Where we start

Main situations we work through together

Finding work when experience seems to count against you

You have plenty to offer, but applications lead nowhere or you hear that you’re overqualified. We examine the roles you’re targeting, how you present your experience, and the concerns an employer may have.

Making a change after 50

You’re considering another industry or type of work. We explore where your experience could transfer, what gaps need addressing, and how to assess a move before committing time or money.

Choosing how you want to work now

You may want more challenge, fewer hours, greater flexibility, or less responsibility. We clarify your priorities and work on explaining your choices to employers.

“I want to make a change, but I don’t want to seem desperate.” You do not need to have the answer before we talk. We can also consider returning to work, income commitments and the working years ahead.

The Approach

How We Work
Together

After 50, a career decision often involves more than finding another job. We consider what you want, what the market needs, and the practical realities of income, flexibility and time.

A session is a focused, practical conversation. We agree on the question worth working through, examine your options and finish with the next steps worth taking.

Step 01

Listen

We start with your situation: what has happened, what you are weighing up and what a good outcome would look like.

Step 02

Work It Through

Depending on your situation, we examine your options, evaluate transferable skills, address potential employer hesitation, or refine how you explain your long career.

Step 03

Plan The Next Step

We finish with clear, immediate steps worth taking and language that makes your experience clear to decision-makers.

Master of Counselling & Psychotherapy student

For more than 30 years, I have sat across the table from hiring managers and candidates, working in recruitment, executive search and career coaching. I understand how employers assess experience, and where a capable person’s story can get lost.

I am navigating this same career chapter myself. I know that wanting something different from work can sit alongside very practical concerns about income, commitments and the years ahead.

My role is to help you examine realistic options and explain your experience in a way the market understands. You do not need to be an executive: this work is for professionals over 50 considering what comes next.

I am currently studying a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Taking my own next step is a reminder that career evolution in this chapter is possible. My studies deepen my interest in identity, change and uncertainty, alongside the commercial realities of recruitment. These sessions remain practical career advice, not therapy.

Career Advisory Session

An individual session to help you work through a career decision, consider your options or explain your experience more clearly.

We agree on the question that would be most useful to work through. Depending on your situation, we may examine your options, identify what matters in your next role or work on how you explain your experience.

You receive a written review of the session: what you could do, what you need to do and what we agreed to do.

What's included
  • A short questionnaire before your session.
  • A private, one-to-one 60-minute Zoom session.
  • A one-to-two-page written review of your session: what you could do, what you need to do and what we agreed to do, sent within 48 hours.
  • CV and LinkedIn review during the session, with practical feedback on what to change and why.

Bring your CV or LinkedIn profile if you would like feedback. Complete rewrites are not included.

No long programmes or multi-month commitments. One session can be enough to get unstuck. If further conversations would genuinely help, you can decide later.

You choose a time that suits you from my live calendar, pay securely on the same page, and receive a confirmation with your Zoom link straight away. Times are shown in your own time zone, across Australia and internationally.
